IT’S ALMOST DECISION DAY, HAVE YOU VOTED?

Since this is a blog written by a baby boomer I can’t resist the temptation to say, “Remember back in the day when the presidential election was always held on the first Tuesday in November and you would walk in, cast your vote, watch the returns at home and go to sleep knowing who the winner was?”

In the back of my mind I worry that the mail in ballots will lead to numerous problems. I don’t think anyone is  expecting to get results the night of the election, are any of you? I have also heard way too many stories of households of three receiving six ballots and similar tales that lead me to believe this election will not end quickly or conclusively. I strongly believe there will be law suits and a very real possibility that the declared loser will not accept the outcome.

That being said, my vote is for Trump. I do not vote strictly party line, but I do lean strongly conservative. I am happy with the successes Trump has achieved in his first term.

There has been a lot of progress on the wall despite strong opposition from the Democrats at every step. I like the wall, not because I’m racist- which has been the stock Democratic answer to anyone who dares to say that. I am not a racist. I like the wall because a country without boarders is not a country. I firmly believe our country should invite immigrants to come legally to our land and enjoy the many opportunities the United States offers. I do believe these immigrants should be vetted, tested and then accepted. U.S. citizenship is a precious commodity, it should be earned.

Low unemployment is another big plus. I owned my own small business before I became a police officer. I worked hard and put in many hours. I was in the shop before my employees arrived and stayed until after they left, that is what many business owners do. I used to cringe when I heard Obama talking about taxing businesses and adding restrictions. I always felt that the Obama Biden administration was at war with business. I am opposed to government restricting business any more than is necessary. I hated the anti U.S. vibe I got from them. I yelled at the TV the first time I saw Obama say Trump would need a “Magic Wand” to boost U.S. manufacturing employment and get to 4% GDP. Trump did get there and brought us the lowest unemployment rate our country has seen since we first started keeping statistics. I want more of that and less of the restrictions a Biden presidency would bring. The liberals claim that Trump took advantage of a growing economy they gave him. The economy was growing, but it is documented that it was the slowest recovery since the 1930’s.

I don’t like the hypocrisy of the left who impeached Trump for, allegedly, doing the same thing their vice president bragged about doing while he held the second highest office in the land. Remember Biden saying he withheld the billion dollar loan to the Ukraine until they agreed to fire the investigator.

I like Trump’s pro business, pro U.S. views. I believe, as a businessman, he knows businesses can not thrive when they are over regulated.

I am thrilled with what Trump has done in 47 months. I see Biden’s 47 year career as mediocre. When liberals roll their eyes at me for “admitting” I am voting for Trump I ask them to list the 5 biggest accomplishments of their guy. That has successfully quieted them down but, I’m sure, it hasn’t changed their vote.

Why aren’t the Democrats defending Biden in the Hunter Biden scandal? If it isn’t true they should get on top of it! I think it probably is true, however, since I have seen many videos and e-mails building the case. If you haven’t seen any of them, start watching conservative stations. Main Stream Media hasn’t picked the story up yet and Twitter is blocking it.
