REALLY SCARY!

I don’t like the direction our country is headed in, and I am not sure we can save it.

As a practicing Catholic I pray for my country, our country, and I have faith in the Lord. I know all things are possible in Him. However, it is written that He will not enter where He is not invited. I am sure that my voice alone will not do the trick. I am not trying to convert anyone here. I will just say if you believe pray, if you don’t read on while I vent.

I am a history buff and I am well aware that our founding fathers, tasked with writing the rules of a new nation, had just successfully rebelled against a mother country that gave them no voice in their government. They had risked life, imprisonment or confiscation of their lands gladly on a gamble that they could be free. After winning their independence they formed the first republic style government. These great men who, in my opinion should be remembered with the statues that were recently attacked by mobs (But that’s a different rant), formed a government with numerous checks and balances because they knew that power has a tendency to corrupt.

The founders envisioned citizens working for little pay to temporarily represent their fellow citizens in the individual state governments or the federal government- in New York City at that time. Ideally these citizens would spend only a short time (one or two terms) serving, and then return to their jobs or farms, as many of the founding fathers planned to do.

Our founders debated to the point of exhaustion, then took a break and continued their debate. Some did not want a president because, they feared, he might act as a king. To curtail the power of this possible king they created a governing body that would be tasked with making laws. This lawmaking body was broken into two parts, The House of Representatives and The Senate as a way to ease worries of the smaller states. This chamber would also have the power to impeach the president if it was suspected he was guilty of treason, bribery or other high crimes and misdemeanors.

Early in its’ creation it was decided that this chamber would be broken into representative districts and the number of representatives would be determined by the population of the district. The smaller states immediately became concerned that they would be at the mercy of the larger states. The representatives of the larger states feared they would lose all power if population was not considered. A compromise formed the chamber into The House (Determined by population) and The Senate (Two Senate representatives for each state).

To curtail the power of the members of this chamber (Congress) the founding fathers gave the president veto power over laws they wrote that he felt would be detrimental to the country. To curtail the president’s power over Congress they were given the ability to “override” a veto with a 2/3s majority vote.

To keep The Congress and The President honest they created The Supreme Court. The court was given the responsibility of determining the constitutionality of laws brought before them by citizens with concerns of unfair treatment.

While not formally recognized the press was seen as “The Fourth Estate.” Even without the official recognition the press is given certain protections such the First Amendment mentioning the press specifically saying “CONGRESS SHALL MAKE NO LAW RESPECTING AN ESTABLISHMEN OF RELIGON, OR PROHIBITING THE FREE EXERCIZE THEREOF; OR ABRIDGING THE FREEDOM OF SPEECH, OR OF THE PRESS….” With this “Power of the Press” intact there was an unwritten expectation that the press/media will honestly report on governmental procedures and practices that might hurt the citizens government is required to serve. 

Twitter blocked Trump because they didn’t like his politics or some of his posts. That’s not a completely bad thing, but I feel it’s unfair that such a powerful outlet can control what I see. Trump, I think, won in 2016 because he had found a way for a conservative candidate to by-pass the agenda driven press and speak directly to the people.

At the very beginning Benjamin Franklin said, “Whoever would overthrow the liberty of a nation must begin by subduing the freedom of speech.” I think of this quote often when I see almost everything I choose to “share” on Facebook either “lost” or tagged with a warning that Joseph Biden has been elected president or something similar. I tried to share something defending Hunter Biden (Don’t worry I didn’t send it) and there was no warning saying that there is evidence that he and “The big guy” are involved in consorting with the Chinese.

Remember what a big deal was made about “Election interference” by the Russians supposedly to help Trump. Later, when that accusation was proven to be false and evidence pointed towards the Democrats it was just dropped- no apologies, no articles explaining they were wrong, it just ended! I ask, do you see an agenda?

Over the last four years I have seen the Main Stream Media write 80% of their articles (In the stories I’ve read the numbers vary from 80% to low 90’s) mentioning Trump in a negative manner. I see this despite the FACT that he has kept most of the promises he made despite heavy resistance from the Democrats. This negative press has been the case even though Ralph Reed’s book “FOR GOD AND COUNTRY” needs 25 pages to document the successes of the Trump Administration with short bullet point sections averaging 4 lines. Under the heading of “Transforming America’s Courts” Reed documents that Trump appointed 191 Appellate Court Judges (who were confirmed), 3 Supreme Court Judges (also confirmed) and much more. Under “Protecting Religious Freedom” he mentions Trump ordered the IRS to stop enforcing the Johnson Amendment which prohibits ministers from discussing political issues (Such as abortion) from the pulpit, Trump defended religious liberty both in the U.S. and abroad. Suffice it to say, 80% negative press does not sound, or feel, like a free press to me. I feels more like an agenda driven press. What do you think, please comment.

Remember Patrick Henry from the Revolutionary War Era? He said, “Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!” I suspect that is not being taught in history classes anymore, what a pity.

I’m with Patrick Henry. I can’t believe so many people are saying Trump should just drop it. There is evidence. Evidence should be heard, or we don’t have a free country. Elections should be secure, or we don’t have a free country. Only citizens should vote, or we won’t have a free country. Every legal vote should be counted, or we won’t have a free country! Trump was not the only one hurt if this election was stolen. Everyone who voted for him (Over 70 million people) was victimized. As a victim I would like to have my day in court!

John Adams said, “A Constitution of Government once changed from Freedom, can never be restored. Liberty, once lost, is lost forever.” I agree with him. What if this election was stolen? This is not just a hunch of a sore loser. There is strong evidence that is not being presented by our, once free, press. Thousands of pages of affidavits (It is punishable by jail time to make false statements in an affidavit) are on file. Witnesses have testified. Security videos have been presented. Proven “computer glitches” that took votes from Trump and gave them to Biden have been submitted and much more. 

We are faced with two questions. Should we give Trump his day in court? Or should we forget about his allegations (and the belief of millions of U.S. citizens) and try to have the inauguration on the scheduled day? Oddly the party that has been saying, “He’s not my president” for four years is demanding he accept the decision, after all it’s been over a month! 

If this election was stolen what repercussions could that bring? Do you think there could ever be another free election? As long as I’ve gone back to the beginning, quoting early patriots, I’ll dip in that pond one more time. George Washington said, “Truth will ultimately prevail where there is pains taken to bring it to light.” He is saying the truth is always there, but sometimes you have to fight to find it. I am truly up for that fight.

None of the rules that kept The American Experiment alive for over 200 years will work without fair elections. It only takes one, this one, to end it all. 

Another thought. I believe this election was stolen by corrupt politicians. If they stole the election they can not let the Republicans regain power because with the conservatives in control this election would get the scrutiny it deserves, and if this election was stolen the cheaters don’t want that to happen. 

I believe President Trump is fighting for our freedom, not just for his presidency.
