I find it hard to relax in modern day America. I suspect it’s related to the things I’m about to touch on, and more. Let the rant begin.

If masks work why can’t we resume our normal lives? If they don’t work why are we forced to wear them?

If the vaccine and masks are effective why are many people still dying alone in hospitals and convalescent centers where visitors are prohibited?

I have loved baseball my whole life. I am now boycotting it because they moved the All Star Game out of Georgia. No, I’m not a racist, I’m a proponent of common sense. Although the media hasn’t covered it, it is a fact that Georgia’s new voting laws (Which is why the game was moved out of Atlanta) are less restrictive than Colorado’s (The new location for the midsummer classic). Common sense is a distant memory in this “New America.”

Where do you plan to live if the defund police movement is successful?

Have you noticed that police are less active? How active do you think you would choose to be if the press and the government were likely to come after you if anything went wrong on a stop you initiated? In the major cities, it is alleged, police who used to be very active getting guns off the street are now sitting on their hands. Politicians in Minnesota who voted to defund the police and have not supported their officers in any way since the George Floyd incident are now complaining that the crime rate is soaring. I believe this is a modern day example of damned if you do and damned if you don’t.

Do you believe in systemic racism?

Are you aware that more Black US citizens are here as a result of choosing to migrate to the US than as a result of slavery. I guess they don’t believe racism is a problem here.

The co- founder of Black Lives Matter, Patrice Khan-Cullors, has bought 4 luxury homes since 2016. An article in the New York Post reported that she has purchased 4 homes recently with a total value near 3.2 million dollars. The liberal fact checkers were quick to claim the article is false because it can not be proven that the properties were purchased with donations. How much have you heard about this? The conservative news sources that I prefer have covered it, but I haven’t seen the hysteria in the main stream media we had with “Russian Collusion” just saying. Oh, just a thought, before saying the Post article is false perhaps the “fact checkers” could look into Ms. Khan-Cullors financial status prior to BLM. I would imagine it would be fairly easy to determine if she had that kind of wealth. Of course the results of any such inquiry might result in finding a truth the media wouldn’t want to print. In case you haven’t heard this in the main stream media the Russian Collusion claims were not substantiated.

While I hear reports daily that more and more Americans have been vaccinated I continue to hear that home schooling will continue to be the rule in many areas.

A report I read recently (From the Center for Disease Control and Prevention) states that vaccination/immunization records may be required for certain jobs, travel abroad or school registration. WHAT! More freedoms gone in the name of health! This same “cartel” that has forced us to wear masks, close businesses they deem unnecessary, work from home, stay out of churches while bars and “Gentlemen’s Clubs” remain open and more may now require us to show proof of vaccination to work or travel. Have you had enough? It’s been over a year!

I thought vaccinated people didn’t have to worry about getting sick- why should they worry if there are unvaccinated among us?

If you went to school after me you might not have heard of Patrick Henry. He was a patriot in revolutionary times who energized the movement by saying, and writing, “Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!” 

I feel the same way. Enough is enough!

When will this stop? What price are we paying? Thousands of small businesses have closed, never to open their doors again. Many once successful people are now on unemployment, others have actually chosen to remain on unemployment because it is currently paying better than working. Is this the land of the free or the land of the bought?

I remember a famous quote from Margaret Thatcher, “The trouble with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money.” Is that true for the United States? It couldn’t be, could it? Paying people who are able to work to stay home doesn’t sound like America to me.

Another good quote on this topic is from Thomas Jefferson (Another historical figure from revolutionary times many may not have studied) who said, “A government big enough to give you everything you want is strong enough to take everything you have.” I fear we are well on the way to that. How many of you have heard any politician saying things like, “The rich don’t pay enough taxes.” or “We will tax the rich to help the poor.” Don’t look now but most of those taxes land on the middle class. You won’t hear that in the main stream media, but look at your taxes after this new “tax on the rich” is implemented and see if you’re paying more or less. My taxes have gone up every time the rich have been taxed and I am not rich. If you don’t believe me just ask my kids. 

Another interesting fact is that (Per Google) the interest the U.S. must pay on the national debt for fiscal year 2021 (October 1, 2020 to September 30, 2021) is 378 Billion Dollars- that’s interest alone. Just as a point of comparison the U.S. was virtually debt free before WW I. After the war the debt had soared to 25 billion dollars (About 334 billion in current dollars). That’s around 1918 for recent graduates of the U.S. school systems. The lowest the debt has been recently is 343.7 billion dollars in 1974- that’s less than we are paying in interest this year! Is it time to panic yet?

So, just to summarize, in our “free” country we are ordered to wear masks outside (in some areas), we must wear masks inside businesses, we are to maintain social distance, our government is currently telling us what businesses are “essential” and may remain open, schools are closed even though children are the least susceptible to the disease, churches in many areas have been ordered to remain closed while airlines that are much more confined have been running. There’s more I’ll be writing about, but that’s enough for now. Isn’t it?

Our country is controlled by people who have never held a job outside of government. This has morphed out of a country created by a group of men who risked their lives and fortunes to create a government that would be made up of citizen patriots who would serve the country for limited compensation for one or two years and then return to their farms and businesses. Now we have retired teachers (like Dennis Hastert) who enter politics with limited financial assets and retire after a few years with enough wealth to pay millions of dollars in hush money.

The only way our government can survive is with informed citizens. We need to do our job. We need to seek out the truth so we can make our decisions based on facts, not on what the main stream media decides to tell us.

    1. We’ve had a few complaints but, overall, not a lot. I’ve told the designers about the issues I’ve heard about. Let me know if the problem continues.
