Yeah Bill, I do remember both of those by Roger Miller- also “England Swings Like a Pendulum Do…” My family used to sing, “Henry The Eighth” by Hermen’s Hermits while we were doing the dinner dishes.

My mother did like country music, and my brother, sister, and I had a lot of chances to tease mother about her choices in music. We did many sing alongs around the kitchen table for “Trailers”. We also loved “You Can’t Roller Skate in a Buffalo Herd” which has a clear and positive message – basically “happiness is a choice”, or “stay on the sunny side”. I’ll never for get these and I’ve taken to playing them on my own now – I do the harmonica and a friend does the guitar. Not complex but lots of fun. -Bill
